Brisbane, may 2016!

Travelling in the Pacific is what many people dream of, but staying on deserted islands for long periods of time makes you restless. For me after having spent time on remote islands, made me look forewards to my 48 hours in Brisbane, Australia. Ive been twice to Australia before, my first tiime back in 2003 for 5 weeks and my second time in 2005 for 2 months.

Brisbane is the Capital of Queensland and is the third biggest city in Australia With 2,3 million People. Brisbane is the gateway to the Gold Coast and have everything in and around the city.

There are a lot of things to do in Brisbane, but as i had only 48 hour here as a transit stop between Nauru and Papua New Guinea i had to deside. I stayed at Base Backpackers near the Central Train station and arriving here i met up with a few other travellers from Norway, Switzerland and Italy. The first night i went out having a few Australian beers and just had a good time. My second day i walked around the Central areas by the river. Southbank with its beautiful Beach, park and boardwalk, West End with the hipster hangouts and good gatropubs, boatrrip on the river and up on a rooftop for sunset.

Its a beautiful city with good temperatures all year around.
